Pretty standard format. Conference semi-finals 9July 20/21) are 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd. Winners advance to Conference finals (July 27/28). Conference champs advance to MLR Championship, August 4.

So 8 out of 12 teams make the playoffs. Makes sense, but I would prefer to see only 50% of teams make the playoffs to make it more of an accomplishment. I liked the old format of three teams from each conference making the playoffs with the best team in each conference getting a bye. The current format does add two more playoffs games which is a good thing.
I agree on out 8 of 12 being a lot, but I think that was actually set when there was expected to be 13 or 14 teams (depending how long they’ve been working to bring in Anthem RC).
