Being old, death gets my attention, so I read the obituaries. This is a collection of recent obits, mostly of people whose work touched my life, because I want to say thanks (or maybe give 'em a final fuck you).

I’m saddened to hear about David Bordwell’s death. My wife took his class at UW-Madison, and was always proud of getting an A for her analysis of Alien. We had dinner with Bordwell and his wife once, and of course, we always read his books and his blog.
