A “suburban” was for taking the same passengers and gear out to the homes farther from the city, and it was a wagon mounted onto a van or truck frame. Chevrolet invented several family cars in one stroke by debuting the Suburban in 1936; it’s rolled into the modern day as an extended, truck-based SUV.
