If you watch the onboards then you’ll see that Max went after the red light went out. Perez drove off with the red light still on. Just check it with F1TV.

The number of upvotes you are getting for this when both the onboard footage and the FIA document show that Perez went out even though is the light was red is scary.
Well, obviously a lot of people have not seen that onboard footage. Would be helpful if someone could post it here.

So one time he said “compromised our race” and another time he said “didn’t change [the] race”? What now?
He got a 5 sec penalty, but he overtook Leclerc early and had clear air in front of him and build up a nice gap (11 secs IIRC before the penalty was applied), so it didn’t have any effect on his race. It ended with a 1-2 finish for Red Bull and P2 for him.
Sure it didn’t, but at one point he himself stated that it compromised his race. Made no sense to me.
