Toy Soldiers became Martika’s one and only number one hit, topping the Billboard Hot 100 for 2 weeks in July of 1989.
Martika had written the song about a friend of hers who had a drug addiction.
The chorus features vocals from some of the cast members of the 80’s TV show “Kids Incorporated” including Fergie, Rahsaan Patterson and even actress Jennifer Love Hewitt.
