Had when?
Unrestricted capitalism is a disease, but it’s not like anyone ever voted for it in the first place. It just happens in all systems. Politicising it only came up after someone had gained some capital and managed to pursuede idiots into voting for them to keep it.
A joke circulating in Russia in 1992 went like this:
Q. What did capitalism accomplish in one year that communism could not do in seventy years?
A. Make communism look good.

Even USSR had capitalism. You can tell because they had rich people and poor people.
Markets do not equal capitalism.
And right now, with Private Equity firms owning about 44% of single-family homes in the US, it’s almost like a return to feudalism. Better bow and scrape and slave for your liege lord, and maybe, in the distant future, your descendants will be married into one of their families, to be given the life you only dreamed of.
