    Cool, with this gesture of good will towards kuwaiti Muslims, maybe Kuwait could stop sentencing gay men to 7 years of prison, and stop fining trans people for being trans.

    It would be a great exercise in tolerance all around!

    Isn’t the Quran supposed to be read only in Arabic? Or was that just the Torah and Hebrew?

      Translations are accepted, but they are seen as human interpretation (because by necessity any translation between languages requires interpretation, even more so for ancient texts). Only the Arabic version is seen as the literal word of god. That’s probably what you were thinking about.

      No, of course not. It can be read in any language as long as that is verified translation. The Qurʻan was originally written in the Arabic language and has been translated into most major African, Asian and European languages.
