What are everyone’s thoughts on the Marathon situation? Many PvP players are worried for Destiny, and many others are worried Marathon is taking from the Destiny team in general too much.

Aside from team scorched (hey, there was a shader I really wanted a few seasons ago), I haven’t touched Crucible much since before Witch Queen. I’m guessing most people don’t have quite my aversion to PvP, but it’s definitely possible to play Destiny in a completely rewarding way without ever having to play against another human.

Crucible would be missed by some if it left, but I bet there would still be enough of a core audience for Destiny that the game could live on mostly without disruption if PvP moved elsewhere.

@oryx Honestly I think I’m okay with D2 PVP going on the back burner. Though I do really like Gambit.

Destiny’s strength has always been PVE IMO, but I know there’s a ton of people who LOVE Crucible so I’ll be interested to see what they say

I typed up a long response and it got lost. I think we’ll know more after the showcase in August. But I think bungie does need to prove it can support two games because with the way destiny has been the past few months it sure looks like they can’t.

I don’t like to get salty but it’s hard to deny D2 has been struggling.

agreed, it definitely feels like the live game has been run by a skeleton crew for a bit of time now. Like we all knew crucible was basically being ignored by bungie because of the PvP game they were working on (Marathon apparently), but I didn’t expect the live service to take this big of a step back. They can barely keep the game running right now with all the error code issues and down time we are getting.
