Admit it, the song holds up. These two 12 year-olds are still better than 90% of the rappers then or since.

Kris Kross was the youngest hip-hop duo to gain success, with gold and platinum albums at 12 and 13 years old. The duo was discovered by Jermaine Dupri (19 years old at the time) in 1991 and hit worldwide status the following year with their smash hit debut single, “Jump”, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks and was certified double platinum as a single.

“Jump” was very successful on the charts all over the world and remains the duo’s biggest hit. In Europe, the song reached number-one in Finland, Ireland and Switzerland, as well as on the Eurochart Hot 100. It peaked at number two in Denmark, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Additionally, the single entered the top 10 also in Austria (7), Belgium (3), France (5), Greece (6) and Italy (5). “Jump” ranked number 75 on “VH1’s 100 Greatest Songs of the 90’s”, and number two on their “Child Stars” Top 10 list. Billboard ranked it number 347 in their “500 Best Pop Songs of All Time”.

Since fashion seems cyclical, I look forward to wearing my clothing backward once again.
