Do you buy electronics? You’re actively participating in the funding of wage-slavery and actual slavery in China.

Do you buy from Amazon? You’re actively participating in one of the most worker-rights-destructive movements to ever exist in the United States, that the likes of Rockefeller and Carnegie could never have dreamed up.

Do you eat meat? You’re actively participating in animal torture.

I’m actually not trying to say that any of the above statements are untrue. I’m pretty in favor of giving Biden grief about Gaza, particularly because it does seem like he’s responding to it, a little. “Every other US administration did it” is no excuse, and the bullshit level of opposition he’s given Netanyahu so far doesn’t excuse the continuing flow of weapons and money all throughout the genocide.

But that said, this “actively participating” to mean Biden’s super happy about what’s happening in Gaza and affirmatively wants it to continue is very clearly not the way it is, if you think about it for more than 2 seconds.

He keeps sending additional money and weapons. Doesn’t matter what he says, his actions tell a whole different story. That’s why Democrats can’t be trusted, we hear what they say and watch what they do.

I watched it. I missed the part where he said he’s happy about what’s happening in Gaza and affirmatively wants it to continue.

          His actions speak for him.

The Biden administration in recent days quietly authorized the transfer of billions of dollars in bombs and fighter jets to Israel despite Washington’s concerns about an anticipated military offensive in southern Gaza that could threaten the lives of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians.

I seriously hope liberals aren’t still holding on to the nonsense belief that leftists who refuse to vote for Biden might cause him to lose to Trump. There are an insignificant number of eligible voters who are leftist, there’s no possible way they will be the deciding factor in the 2024 presidential election.

I bet leftists make up more than 0.03% of voters. That’s the number of votes that would have swung the election for Trump. About 43k voters out of 158 million who participated.

Not if the majority of those leftists live in districts that are strongly liberal and thus would’ve gone for Biden regardless, which is likely the case. The number of leftist eligible voters in key swing districts is probably infinitesimal.

Leftist moral superiority has gotten even dumber than right wing moral superiority. Possibly their greatest achievement to date.

Interestingly enough it’s paired up with some of the exact same tactics conservatives have been using for however long: Affirmative support for lying as a tactic, as long as it gets results, accusations of “silencing criticism” if someone voices disagreement with you, and censorship of opposing views because any disagreement is by definition illegitimate.

The left was doing #2 and #3 already before these folks came along (I LOVE YOU GUYS BUT IT’S TRUE), but it’s much more explicit now, and #1 is new.

It’s all just loosely ideological gangs at this point. As soon as you choose to identify with one the gang starts to become more important than the ideology ever was. The only political conversations worth having are about specific policies, implementation, and outcomes. Everything else is just gang colors and slogans.

Yeah. Humans are tribal. It’s natural to want to defend your grouping whether they’re right or wrong, it’s as much built in as liking to eat good food and being happy at the beach.

I don’t give people a pass on mindless tribal politics just because it’s ‘human nature’. Modern humans have a choice.

100% agreed. I wasn’t saying it at all as a good thing or justified when it happens, just observing that it’s surprisingly common / easy to fall into.
