While the Guild Wars 2 community is currently and understandably bubbling over about the launch of Secrets of the Obscure expansion next month, ArenaNet is still patiently making its way through its summer roadmap – and that includes the Festival of the Four Winds, which rolls out next week.

“Festival of the Four Winds arrives to #GuildWars2 in one week!” tweeted the studio last night. “From July 18 until August 8, visit the Labyrinthine Cliffs and Crown Pavilion to join the festivities!”

Readers will surely recall that back in 2018, ArenaNet revived the festival after four years of hibernation, and it’s been back every summer since with updates. Last year’s event, for example, added new weapons and fishing contests since it was the first one since End of Dragons’ launch. We streamed it too if you want a lil preview!

I’ll master Lemmy mark up one of these days! Today clearly is not that day however.

Guess it would be too much to hope for that they add something new this year. Suspect most of the time will be spent in the Queen’s Pavilion.

With the new expansion just weeks away, I would be beyond shocked if there were new content this year. I’m guessing there’s just going to be a couple new minis, a new armor skin, and not much else.

Yeah, why I fear it to be the case. Suspect the only new thing for this event will be the two tier weekly rather than the single tier weekly I recall they had last year

Why did I think Nitter didn’t work anymore?

I’m surprised, too. Also libreddit and teddit are still working. Looks like both Twitter as well as Reddit haven’t shut down the public (unauthenticated) API endpoints (yet).

They restricted access so you could not link it anymore without login, which ddosd their servers somehow so they changed it back afaik.
