    Holy shit that’s horrible for the cats. Much lower fatality rate in cows. This virus sure seems to like jumping species.

    Kind of makes me think a human to human variant is a matter of when not if. Hopefully the CFR is on the low side for humans when/if it happens.

    Fortunately a vaccine can be ready very quickly and lots and lots of epidemiologists are watching this thing.

    The fatality rate is at least 14-33% in humans.

    That’s much higher than Covid-19 and there is some indication that it can already jump between humans but nothing even close as well as Covid; several magnitudes less.

    From what I’m reading, this thing has been spreading around for a while, this is just the first time it’s hit our borders without being quickly contained.
