I thought it was a known fact that PDs have ticket quotas.
They were ruled unconstitutional. The only valid metric for issuing a citation is (belief/evidence of) a crime being committed.
That said, since just went from a hard quota (e.g. 100 tickets issued per month) to a soft quota (a prize to whomever issues the most tickets per month)
The local police department has some metric saying there are X amount of moving violations per day in town divided by X amount of officers so each officer must write X amount of tickets.
That way, it’s not really a “quota“ but a job performance metric they are punished for not meeting.
Exactly. If there wasn’t a quota then why are the cops always out in full force at the end of the month?
What we have here is the rare “good cop”. And we all know what happens to good cops. If he doesn’t learn to STFU one of the regular cops are going to suicide his ass.
