Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin based on the fan-fave graphic novel is in the works with Tyler Burton Smith writing and Walter Hamada producing through his 18hz production company, as part of his multi-year deal with the studio. The movie will be the first R-rated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
This art “style” is butt ugly AF. Hard pass.
The article just uses a still/marketing photo from the Michael Bay produced live action turtle movies, and not anything from the one that is being talked about in the article. We have no idea what this new movie will look like because they’re still just writing it.
I think that’s from one of the lame live action movies. Article references The Last Ronin, which has great art.
Fair point, and agreed. No spoilers, but that arc is about as dark as the OG comics at times. I certainly hope it’s a sign of good things to come. These poor bastards’ve suffered through the 90s for long enough. 🙇🏽♂️
A Last Ronin adaptation would be more than welcome. Great series!
Please go back to the 1st TMNT Jim Henson models. I know the rubber suits have disintegrated since the 80s but they really were the best. CGI them for all I care, but just please USE them.
Another article for reference, https://graphicpolicy.com/2024/04/11/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-the-last-ronin-is-getting-an-r-rated-adaptation/.
In the works basically means the script has started to be written. Hopefully there’s a legit future for this but no guarantee.
