To be fair, these posts seem to be youth who are hating the immediate environment which is affecting them. Not the entire country. However in typical youth hyperbole, they’d rather write that they hate the whole country rather than specific people in it.

Also, this can be generalized to be youth of literally any country in the world. These issues they’re bringing up are part of the human condition.

Why do a lot of Indians on Reddit hate themselves?

    FTFY.

And the question kind of answers itself, doesn’t it? They’re on Reddit, of course they hate themselves.

This seems more like resentment of society’s worst tendencies more than self racism, second one especially, bruv didn’t say anything that wasn’t rooted in his own personal experience

This happens across all diasporas. I’m sure MAGA-supporting African-Americans would make similarly critical posts about America. I wouldn’t conflate this with the general population

This doesn’t appear to be an Indian hating themselves, but hating how a subculture they don’t like has become popular online and is now how people view Indian culture as a whole.

Caste system might be a factor. Not sure how much it is still followed though

As far as I know the reputation that I hear about Indians is that they are too proud of themselves, and any criticism of the country is deemed “propaganda”
