Do it!
That’s cool Fran Drescher is the SAG president. Didn’t know that. I did know she doesn’t really have “The Nanny” voice but I did read her quotes in that voice. Just sticks with you.
Watch her speech, it’s not that far off.
Christopher is also in support of the strike

It may not be capable yet, but in time you could easily feed an AI all of say, Scorseses filmography and then ask it to make you a movie with X plot in his style and it will spit one out. Probably won’t be great cinema but studio heads don’t care if people pay to see it
For stuff like Marvel movies it could work, considering how formulaic they are anyway.
That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking. The Star Wars sequels feel like they were spat out by an AI, or a committee of geriatrics.
Would depend on which ones, the ones done by the Russo Brothers are less so, folks like Brett Ratner will never get work again though
never understood this criticism the formula marvel uses most movies especially of this genre(not heroes but fiction at large) is pretty much these stories
Walking out of the premier of a highly anticipated movie is a great power move
I was thinking about this earlier, and what will I watch for the foreseeable future if this happens…guess YouTube content will get a huge bump if there are no more TV shows or movies to watch.
The last strike brought us some really fantastic content, such as Dr Horribles Sing-a-long Blog and The Guild. I imagine we’ll see a resurgence of creator-driven projects that are directly supported by audiences.
In today’s world with tools like Patreon available, I suspect writers and actors can invent income streams outside of the Hollywood studio complex.
So far, of creators I follow, it’s brought BriTANick to patreon and making regular online content again, so that’s nice (for us).
The definitely not very problematic Dr Horrible. I look forward to what we get to consume then realize is fucked up in a year or two.
What’s wrong with it? (I’ve never seen it)
I’m gonna guess their problem is with the co-creator, Joss Whedon.
The message also isn’t great in hindsight (very pre-incel incel vibe) and Penny as a character has very little agency.
The songs are fun though.
