Patrick Wattigny, a former Slidell Catholic priest accused in two separate child molestation cases on the north shore, pleaded guilty Wednesday afternoon and received five years behind bars.

Wattigny appeared before Judge John Keller of the 22nd Judicial District Court and pleaded guilty to two counts of juvenile molestation where the offender has control or supervision of the victim.

Keller sentenced Wattigny to 15 years on each count, with the sentences to run concurrently. However, Keller suspended 10 years of each sentence. Wattigny will serve five years with five years’ probation and must also register as a sex offender.
