Frida (Naomi Ackie), a young and clever waitress, has her eyes set on tech mogul Slater King (Channing Tatum). After skilfully manoeuvring her way into King’s inner circle, she is invited to a intimate gathering on his private island. Despite the epic setting, beautiful people, ever-flowing champagne, and late-night dance parties, Frida can sense that there’s something terrifying hiding beneath the island’s lush facade.
Anytime I see Channing Tatum in a movie, he has zero chemistry with his costar. I just don’t like him as an actor.
He’s good with Jonah Hill in 21 Jump Street.
Have you seen Logan Lucky? He doesn’t do too bad there but that’s an everyman’s oceans 11-type movie so it kinda seems like everyone is having fun.
No. I was thinking of Jupiter Ascending (yes, it has other problems, but the negative energy between him and Mila Kunis was particularly painful) and Lost City with Sandra Bullock. Going over his filmography I must admit that I only dislike him when he’s supposed to romance someone and there’s very clearly nothing between them.
