Interesting, I found something like that years ago and brought it in for examination at a museum. Couldn’t tell much about the designs but it was a beautiful, deep crimson due to the layer of rust. They’d initially worked out a tentative date of 1200 BC due to the location and circumstances of the find. Further analysis showed that it was from some time within the past century though and just a red hair ring.
