Some good changes in there. I barely noticed the mura issues outside of a few specific games, but I’m looking forward to seeing how much that’s improved. HDMI-CEC features sound great, I’m curious if that will work with all docks or just the official one.
Edit: if you get double inputs from BT controllers, disable the HDMI-CEC features to fix. One of those CEC features is to let your TV remote control your deck, but it seems to cause double inputs for some people.
But but my dynamic tiling 😭Edit: nvm, still on Plasma 5.
But what about HFP/HSP? Can I actually use my new earbuds mics with the Deck now?
Enabled support for Bluetooth A2DP and BAP profiles

And it will be for the time being. I don’t expect the move to Plasma 6 to happen before 6.2 or 6.3.
So the zram change didn’t make it? I thought it was a great change, but it’s not mentioned here.
Kernel 6.5 is an odd choice as 6.6 is the latest longterm release.
Great that Mesa is up-to-date though.
Does overclocking support for the LCD Deck mean we can increase frequency?

They run their patched kernels until the patches made it upstream. They don’t want to port a patchset to new kernels all the time.
Ah that makes sense I guess. Just felt weird to me to jump from 6.1 to 6.5 instead of 6.6.
I wonder why that is that zram didn’t make it. Bazzite (and maybe some others) make use of zram, but maybe they feel like their testing doesn’t yet have enough coverage to ship it, and perhaps it will be in 3.6.1 or be added as a late addition to the 3.6.0 build.
Fedora has been using it for years. The only thing that comes to my mind is that maybe it had some issues with the Deck’s standby mode? I wouldn’t think so, but why else would they not ship it for now?
So, I will say that sleep mode on Bazzite uses more power than standard SteamOS, but I have no idea if that’s related to zram usage.
Yeah, I was looking forward to ZRAM. I know it doesn’t usually help performance (I think Cryobyte tries it on all of his game optimization videos and it never makes enough of a difference), but I figure it will still help with running out of memory.
It would also help with SSD lifespan, especially on smaller SSDs. It’ll likely improve performance further with the 64 GB eMMC model some people are still using stock.
Looking forward to the MicroSD improvements. Had the issue yesterday that my Deck wouldn’t boot with the card inserted (Samsung, not cheap trash). New Plasma LTS update is also appreciated.
