Hey everyone, my name is Bob.
Nowadays it seems as if every program/application is either closed source, has intrusive advertisements/trackers or is just proprietary. It’s very annoying to the people who just want to use the internet or even their own computer and not have to worry about these things.
This is why I founded the Agora Project. Our mission is to resolve these issues by creating open source software that can be used in place of these annoying programs/applications.
It is named The Agora Project for a reason. This will not be possible with just me. If you have anything to contribute (code, ideas, constructive criticism, jokes) then please feel free to do so on any of our platforms.
Thank you for reading and welcome to the Agora Project!
We can be found on these platforms
We do plan on expanding to open source platforms as well in the near future

…and yet you host your project on proprietary platforms like Discord and Github. Why?
There’s Matrix, there’s IRC, there’s Codeberg, and several other open alternatives.
Valid point, thank you for sharing. As this project was recently founded, many things are still being laid out for the future. There are good reasons for being on these proprietary platforms, but do know I fully intend on expanding/focusing on open source alternatives. Feel free to list other open source alternatives that you’d like me to check out, thanks!
