By “steal an election” do you mean having the FBI lie to the FISA court 17 times to get phone taps on an entire presidential campaign then having political operatives & the IC employ Mccarthyism & concoct a ridiculous conspiracy theory that the president is a traitor & working for an enemy nation, then getting the media to report it as fact for four straight years , then getting 51 CIA agents to lie to voters about a computer being Russian propaganda, then getting social media platforms to blanket censor the reporting of that computer story & ban accounts that do, then doing two bogus impeachments then having FBI assets dressed as MAGA supporters inside the Capitol before FBI assets outside the capitol instigated a riot, then mislabeling that riot as an insurrection in order to criminalize a political movement, then employing lawfare for 4 completely bogus prosecutions?

Just as a pragmatic matter, if a guy tries to steal an election it’s… straightforwardly fair to say that he is a threat to democracy! Like, definitionally. I’m against overheated rhetoric and hysteria and exaggeration but telling people they can’t describe reality is silly.
