Still terrible for their reputation (and bank account) tho. Especially when the solution seems to be as simple as providing a new voltage curve (or offsets or limits or whatever), the problem should have been caught earlier and also resolved much faster.
Degradation because of voltage is irreversible and relatively easy to test for after all. All you need is are some extreme overclockery and a tank of LN2.
