    Once you do the math you see how far we still have to go.

    To run an average fridge for 1 day takes 16 six (fucking autocorrect) panels and 3 batteries.

      I didn’t do the measurements myself, but found a few places that did.

      According to this article and the first 30 seconds of this video, one panel generates 2 kWh a day.

      According to this report, refrigerators take around 500 kWh a year to run, or 1.5 kWh a day.

      So it looks like one panel, in combination with a battery, is enough to do the job for a fridge. Unless you were talking about a walk in, then maybe a few more. Also, that Forbes article gives a figure of 20-30 panels for the average home to power it year round. A refrigerator certainly isn’t half the energy a household consumes.
