Literally any advice that boils down to “compromise values towards the right to court centrists” is exactly the wrong decision.

That’s how we get weak stances and a divided voter base.

Seems like they think elections are like playing the price is right, where guessing 1 dollar above or below one of the other players is sometimes a good strategy.

If they were competent academics, they’d know the culture wars were manufactured, and to be aware that politicians can shape public discourse then disregard this and assume they must bow to and react to manufactured discourse is weird and illogical.

Absorbing your opponents positions isn’t useful, especially when large swathes of your support is resisting the erosion of civil rights. You’d just erode your own support and suppress your own turnout.

I agree that she should perform a token move to the center to be more electable to average morons, but just not on issues i care about please. Like maybe say something like “we should keep the current death tax exemptions so farmers can inherit land” and “yes I support tariffs on Chinese goods” and “yeah the second amendment isn’t going anywhere you guys I’m not going to support any new gun bans, but let’s do more background checks please”.

But please leave the trans kids alone thanks
