Back in 2020, Biden campaigned on a promise to place a moratorium on deportations; he went as far as to apologize for the Obama-Biden’s administration record number of deportations. That means that, campaigning in 2024, it’s tricky for Biden or Harris to state a simple fact: that their administration has kicked out millions more migrants than Trump ever managed to.

But that is both sides working with a reasonable expectation of legality. Inject Project 2025 into that and Trump will have a rubber stamp to kick anyone out of the country and he will set quotas to get rid of people. And the admins doing Trump’s bidding will skirt or ignore all kinds of laws around emigration and citizenship to just remove brown people.
The darker side of me thinks that they won’t get other nations to accept them and “bussing them in” via actual busses or plane loads of them being surreptitiously sent via commuter lines will cut ties to those countries. So MAGA and Trump will have to build a camp for them. Manzanar will be reactivated with disastrous consequences.
