“House of the Dragon” hit a Season 2 high in viewership with Sunday’s finale, which drew 8.9 million multiplatform viewers across HBO and Max, per Warner Bros. Discovery.

That’s up 14% from the Season 2 premiere night, which garnered 7.8 million viewers. However, it is down from the audience size for the first season finale of “House of the Dragon” in 2022.

This whole season could have been 3 episodes. The suspense when watching isn’t ‘what is going to happen in this episode’, it’s ‘I wonder if something is going to happen in this episode’. It really doesn’t feel like a season of story telling was produced.

Yeah, it felt like they ran out of budget so were financially unable to move the story along. Wish they would have at least done cheap indoor scenes of what is going on at Winterfel which would have been better for Jace character development as opposed to the same Daemon visions that got repetitive quick, Rhaenyra complaining about how she can’t do anything over and over, and Alicent being so pointless they waste timed with montages of her camping.

Rhaenyra and Alicent have ended up feeling like modern day influencers dropped into a medievil world with how afraid the writers have been to give them flaws and desires like vengeance and ambition compared to season 1. And the constant desperate tie in to the lame white walkers had me rolling me eyes.

Really makes me appreciate characters like Daenerys and Cersei. And when it comes to good characters ones like Brienne were so much better than the good character archetype the show has been going for with Rhaenyra.
