Iconic hard rock band Nine Inch Nails is set to compose the score for “TRON: Ares,” Disney making the announcement tonight at D23.

The event featured a first look at the sci-fi movie and some samples of the score work played to the crowd.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are the two permanent members of NIN and have won Oscars for their score composition work across numerous films.

Interestingly Disney has billed the score as being done by the band as opposed to the two men themselves.

They follow on from the previous installment “TRON: Legacy” in 2010 with a score by Daft Punk that was a celebrated work in its own right.

Cast members Jared Leto, Evan Peters, and Greta Lee were on hand at D23 to promote the film.
