    Dude wtf, poor germans.

edit: also, I think there are more Nazis on “other big countries” than in germany now.

As a German, I can assure you that there’s still a metric shitton of Nazis here, and as far as I’m concerned, they could fuck all the way off.

Isn’t it against the law? Germany is considering pressing charges against Roger Waters for using Nazi-like imagery in one of his shows, which was clearly an anti-fascist message. I mention that because it shows how little tolerance Germany seems to have towards Nazism.

Yeah, you would think so, but we have weekly demonstrations of Nazis in the streets (Pegida, Coronazis, people trying to disturb CSD parades,…), Nazis trying to get into parliaments and councils (AfD, parts of CDU), Nazis in talk shows and interview, Nazis writing for big newspapers, Nazis in our police and armed forces, … Just because they mostly don’t use 3rd Reich Nazi symbols, doesn’t make them any less Nazi, and Germany has far too much tolerance for them. It’s basically the same playbook as anywhere else: make small steps, undermine institutions, spread talking points, gain traction, destroy democracy.

Are they self-acknowledged fascists? That’s what trips me out the most about the Third Reich Nazis, is that they were proudly fascist. That has always been an abhorrent word to me, so I find it really weird when a person or party proudly declares that is what they are.

Yeah, many are by now, they feel way strong. We have state level elections in two weeks, and I’m genuinely scared.

Good luck to you guys. I’m hoping we can squash these fucking Nazis without having to resort to violence this time.

I know I just wanted to show that, in numbers, a bigger country like, idk, the US, can have more nazis than germany. Nazism is not a german exclusive problem anymore it’s global

Here’s a joke : What’s the difference between Nazi Germany and modern Germany? Almost none, The Nazis perpetrated a genocide on what they consider as lessers, while modern Germany support a genocide perpetrated by the people they considered as lessers on people whom they stole their land and consider lessers. Truly a “never again” moment, am I right?

what a surprise that this was posted by Linkerbaan…

    1. There are two choices in the United States 2024 election. No third party stands a ghost of a chance of winning. No, not even if the 30,000 people you can reach on Lemmy all vote for Timothy Greenparty.
    2. A Trump victory in 2024 would not only be just as bad if not worse for the citizens of Gaza than Harris would, but also pose an existential threat to a large number of vulnerable Americans (trans people, immigrants, women seeking abortions).
    3. Given the margins of victory in 2016 and 2020, Kamala might not win if leftists don’t vote for her.
    4. Snoozing fascism for four years is better than inviting it through the door now, and buys us time to build our defenses for when it comes back.

I’d like to focus my counterargument. Which of these statements do you disagree with?

EDIT: Downvote and no reply. What a fucking surprise.
