The richest nation in recorded history can’t take care of its most needy. Someone like Musk or Gates or Bezos could easily create housing for all the destitute in this nation (not fancy, but livable) without seriously impacting their bottom line and we accept that it’s ok for them to hoard that wealth while our government does fuck-all to help these people. Instead, our government persecutes them by making them relocate. They can’t even have community. We’re assholes.

Let’s remember that the border was open for financial gains. Politicians don’t do anything out of the kindness of their hearts. Work force during the pandemic had the upper hand and it was a good time for Americans. This is how these companies pushed for an open border, so they can take power back they don’t give a shit about these immigrants. They just want to give them a hand so they can vote for the party that let them in. Our leaders are the scum bags that should be jailed.

Requesting asylum is not illegal and is actually a right protected under international law
Illegal immigrating and seeking asylum are two separate acts. You can go to a port of entry or an embassy and seek asylum.
