Made this when I initially installed EndeavourOS awhile ago, unfortunately in recent versions of kwin the setup I’m using to round the corners of my windows and give them an outline no longer works, so I’ll have to change it.
Seeing as I’ll have to come up with something new soon, if anyone has any tips on how to make something better please let me know, personally I feel like I’m not using KDE’s widgets to their full potential here, but I can’t figure out how to add more without making it feel cluttered.
That is super clean, nice job. Do you have details on the theme and window animations you used? I have a similar look going, but with not as many fine touches.
Well, to round the windows I used lightlyshaders, and for the window decorations (which includes the outline) I’m using a modified version of Klassy to make it compatible with the rounded windows. Unfortunately, the latest versions of these two are no longer compatible with each other (though they still work individually). My theme started out as the Dracula theme from the KDE store, but I modified it a bunch to add some stuff from other themes. The version shown in the screenshot is mostly the “Utterly Round” theme with the colors changed to the ones from Dracula. The window open/close animation is the burn-my-windows TV effect.
Thanks, I’m going to try and implement a few of those ideas. The window open|close is what really got me.
Fellow EndeavourOS user. Looks good!
