🚨🇬🇧 BREAKING: UK MOVES TO ABOLISH UNELECTED SEATS IN PARLIAMENT

The UK government is trying to get rid of the 92 seats in the House of Lords that are passed down through families, rather than being elected.

This is part of a major reform to change the upper chamber of the UK’s Parliament, which is currently unelected.

The ruling Labour Party promised to make this change during the last election, continuing reforms that started under a previous Prime Minister, Tony Blair.

The Constitution Minister called this a “landmark reform,” saying that the idea of inheriting a seat in Parliament is outdated.

The bill to abolish the hereditary seats still has to pass both the elected House of Commons and the House of Lords itself before becoming law.

This is an effort to make the UK’s political system more democratic by removing these unelected, family-based seats in Parliament.
