The culinary workers union has tiered system where only very few get true union like benefits and it’s an open secret that they’re controlled by the casinos; they’re only technically a union and were created to prevent true unions from forming.
The best thing about having a bad local is that it’s ready to organize for worker power again. It’s far easier to turn around a bad union than to organize a new one.
