The Israeli army chief said Wednesday that the military is preparing for a possible ground operation in Lebanon as Hezbollah hurled dozens of projectiles into Israel, including a missile aimed at Tel Aviv that was the militant group’s deepest strike yet.
Addressing troops on the northern border, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said the latest Israeli airstrikes were designed to ”prepare the ground for your possible entry and to continue degrading Hezbollah.”
In an apparent reference to the missile aimed at Tel Aviv, he said: “Today, Hezbollah expanded its range of fire, and later today, they will receive a very strong response. Prepare yourselves.”

Ground Invasion. Call it what it is. Lebanon is it’s own sovereign nation and Israel wants to invade to “take out Hezbollah” and in the mean time steal more land.
I bet “Hezbollah” and “Hamas” will have their final bases deep inside Iran.
Since Lebanon won’t take care of private actors attacking Israel there isn’t any other option. If I were sending rockets into Canada the US would arrest me. (I have minimal understanding of Lebanon politics, but what I know suggests they can’t and many are hoping Isreal solves the problem for them)

The misstles they are launching into Isreal is attempted genocide. But since Isreal can do no good you will ignore that.

What Israel is doing is unimaginable evil, systematic wholesale slaughter of children and other innocents.
Not at all on the scale of some pissy little rocket attacks that’s rarely hit anything.
Spare me the hyperbole. Hamas is just as evil for continuing to hold hostages knowing the price their citizens are paying.
Hamas could take 5x as many hostages and still not come close to genocide.

Israel could do good but they choose genocide instead.
Attempted genocide gives them too much credit. If you read the stories on Hezbollah attacks, you’ll see the same line come up again and again:
“There were no reports of casualties or damage.”
They’re trying to do something, they just aren’t very effective.

Never say never. At this rate it is very much in the realm of possibility that Israel gets to be at peace AND occupies all the territory it wants. Unless anti-zionists start cluing in to this very real danger it might actually come to pass.

You gotta hand it to those US “Defense” industry lobbyists. The US is now shoveling money towards that industry to support both sides of the “it’s OK to invade our neighbors” argument. In Israel’s case I guess it helps that that country also has lobbyists.

No, it’s much more mundane; Netanyahu just wants to stay out of prison.
That may be his motivation, but there are thousands enabling this genocide.
I mean that’s legit why a significant number of US voters supports Israel.
