It’s a gotcha because you’re stuck between a party leader that expects to to blatantly lie and an overwhelming truth

It is. It’s an incredibly accurate way to identify delusional victims or willfully ignorant liars.

In some ways it is a sanity litmus test. Some people knowingly answer incorrectly or with ambiguity for political gain.

To a confederacy of dishonest dunces, every question is a gotcha question.
