Thankfully, there are new projects on the horizon, including a new comic book series which sounds like it’s set to be a sure-fire hit with fans.

It’s set to bring fan-favourite characters back to the fray. Almost a decade since the Star Wars universe burst onto the comic book scene, some of its most well-loved series, such as Star Wars and Star Wars: Darth Vader, have come to an end.

With such important series finding their conclusions, fans have been speculating as to what they can expect next from Marvel Comics.

Luckily, the future is looking bright.

Last week saw Marvel Comics announce that an upcoming one-shot story was set to release in January 2025.

Titled Star Wars: A New Legacy, it will be the brainchild of many veteran writers and will also welcome back some much-loved characters such as Doctor Aphra and Beilert Valance.

“This is the monumental moment we’ve been waiting for: celebrating a decade of the re-union of Marvel Comics and Star Wars,” editor Mark Paniccia exclaimed.

I hope the writing in the comic is better than that article. I can’t tell if it’s AI or a poor writer who had a word quota.

Right? Don’t gaslight us into thinking there haven’t been Star Wars comics since like the fuckin 80’s

Good to see comic scene is still alive and kicking. Never really got into them myself, I know a few things of Aphra, but I never heard of Valance. I’m guessing both are exclusive to comics.

I haven’t really kept up with them since the relaunch a couple of years back, but I’ve read pretty much everything up to the War of the Bounty Hunters stuff. Aphra is really cool and fun, I think she’d be a big hit if they made a movie or a TV show about her. She’s a bit like Indiana Jones. Fun, quirky, honestly ideal for a Gen Z/Alpha audience. The majority of this community would probably hate her though, since unfortunately it seems to be overpopulated with people who just want to bitch and moan about Disney constantly! Although, they probably would like Aphra’s droids, one of which is all but confirmed to be HK-47’s personality core in a protocol droid. Good stuff!

Valence is an Aphra villain, if you think of a Nazi Scientist bionics expert guy, it’s kind of that. I thought the recent Andor show was kind of hinting that there might be some appearance from him in the future with Dr. Hershing.

Valance was one of the first original characters in the initial Marvel run on the Star Wars comics and always looked like Star Wars Punisher. He’s made quite the comeback in recent years but I don’t recall he has trickled over into much other media, yet, but I think it is only a matter of time.

Aphra has been the big breakout hit and will eventually be everywhere (she’s in Galaxy of Heroes, for example) - I’d be shocked if they weren’t planning how to get her into live action.

I like star wars. I don’t like Disney star wars and I’m not looking forward to the disrespect these fan favourite characters will most likely get and the inevitable blaming of the random for the resulting flop.

Doctor Aphra and Doctor Valence are both fan-favourite characters created by Disney, so I’m not really sure how they could disrespect them.
