Maybe this video is talking more about suburban areas, but I find non-touristy portions of many urban US cities very interesting to walk through. I’ve walked aimlessly through NYC, Boston, New Orleans, SF, Chicago, St. Louis, and Portland and I’ve thought they all had cool interesting things to see.
However, I would agree with the video for some cities like LA (although there are many smaller areas within LA that are interesting), Dallas, and Phoenix. They tend to have a lot of uninteresting urban sprawl.
The video talks about Prague and the central areas that aren’t pedestrianised. There can be interesting areas but the focus on cars makes them unpleasant to spend time in.
Absolute nonsense. Cities inherently suck in a way that can’t be fixed and no rational person would ever choose to live in one if genuinely given the choice. Being that close to so many other people, which is the definition of city, is the optimal way to ensure suffering. No thank you.
If you do manage to talk to some other people, you might find out that they can have different opinions to you.
I grew up in the suburbs and now live in a city. I much prefer living in a city over the suburbs. I wish it was less car dependent, but overall it’s a better experience IMO.
