Summary

North Korea has deployed over 10,000 troops to Russia, marking its first major combat involvement since the Korean War, in support of Moscow’s efforts in Ukraine.

While this strengthens ties between Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin, analysts doubt the troops’ effectiveness due to inexperience, language barriers, and cultural isolation.

Their presence could prolong the war but likely won’t deliver a strategic advantage. Critics warn the deployment risks defections and further strains battlefield cohesion.

Despite doubts, the alliance signals deepening North Korea-Russia cooperation amid global concerns.

Take a bunch of sheltered early 20th century peasants and tell them they are the best soldiers in the world. Send them off to war with instructions to kill one of two groups of people that look the same, sound the same, dress the same and carry the same weapons. They were never meant to survive.

They’re also in flat eastern Ukraine, nothing like the mountainous country where they trained.

How well were they drilled on evading drones? Seems like this isn’t going to go well for them.

Some will get lots of valuable experience. like for example getting split into 357 pieces. Where else will you ever get that experience anywhere?

Remember when russia had a star gate and then the US broke theirs so they had to use the russian one? Ah yes. There was collaborative partnerships but now they have thrown all that away to satisfy putin. russia will be announced like they announce Peru or Chile…the little nation that is troubled but somehow still makes the news. But it will take a long time. First they gotta lose the war, they’re taking their own sweet time doing that but they’re getting there. And then probably a decade to lick all the wounds. And then…news 10! At 10! Watch as Vlad the Propeller, the new ruzzian leeder trips over a microphone cable! It was hilarious 😂😆!..

Remember when russia had a star gate and then the US broke theirs so they had to use the russian one? Ah yes.

SGC had the BC-304 at that point. They could have just grabbed a gate and DHD from any uninhabited planet.

It’s actually a major plot flaw that Russia was given anything at all since there was no DHD at that point (and thus any DHD obtained would have overridden any other gate on the planet). Russia had no pull, other than jumping the gun and telling the public at large.

God… Why do I know all of this so readily?

What’s the point though? 10k isn’t gonna make much of a dent given the current rate of losses
