This is a weird one. It’s a solid episode for sure, and we’ve gotten some interesting stuff, but the pacing was suddenly quite different. I would have never thought we’d be right before the first Tamagami with Vegeta already being in the demon realm in the span of just one episode. By the way, kudos for getting the reason for the failing ship right - Bulma actually just didn’t understand demon tech.
I think this is the first episode Shin actually felt like a real character. He did some of his usual explaining, but he also fought alongside the others, broke the collar and even revealed his actual name. Although, destroying the collar within minutes of explaining them felt quite anti-climactic. It does make a lot of sense, but it also contributes to the weird pacing.
Another first was Goku actually going for the easy solution right in front of him - teleporting. Mere seconds after me asking “Couldn’t he just teleport?” Shin basically said the same.
The next episode seems to feature the best fight yet, judging by the preview. However, I don’t think Goku will win just yet. For starters, it is time to face some actual adversity, but there is also a lot left to be resolved in the first demon realm. At least, I assume we will meet up with Vegeta and do something about the Gendarmerie - while they can travel between realms, their strangle hold seems to be only on the current one.
It definitely feels like they sped it up out of no where. I am happy and excited that we are already at the first Tamagami, but it has me wondering just how long the series will be. I don’t necessarily want it to drag out like Z filler, but I’d like a nice healthy run. Unless they want to get back to Super, but I’m not going to get my hopes up
