No, anyone on Telegram can block incoming calls. Voice messages are different.
Wait so how does that work then, I was looking at Telegram’s page on it but frankly they’re hyping premium so much, I got the impression you can’t block shit without paying
As I said, anyone can block incoming calls. You can also block users which means they cannot send you anything (text, images, voice messages). If you specifically want to block only voice messages from a person, that feature is behind the Premium paywall.
Alright then, thx for clarification
Without premium you can block calls but you can’t block voice messages. Not sure what the user you replied to was on about
I edited the title because originally I misunderstood that you can’t block calls

It’s really not that bad. It’s a very specific type of individual message blocking that most folks would never even conceive of, let alone need.
And it didn’t exist as a free feature before it was added as a subscription feature. So far they have kept their word on never making once-free features subscription-only.
I’m not a subscriber, but I’m not mad that they offer features I don’t need for extra money for those who find it worthwhile.
SimpleX does this out of the box!
What a bunch of greedy good-for-nothings these companies are. Pretty soon people will be saying, “Well, I guess I’ll just not bother having a phone anymore.” I mean really, it’s getting so bad I think I’m going to brush up on my Morse code.
