Assad certainly was a shitbag, but I’m not quite sure that the “rebels” will make things any better. Depends on which splinter group of the rebels claws its way to the top (it’s likely gonna be another shitbag).
It doesn’t matter. Maybe it will get worse, maybe it will get better. Not doing anything because it can get worse is one of dumbest stances that you can assume.
