    The fediverse is a confusing, complicated endeavor that will require a change in how users view social media.

    I know I’m much more steeped in Internet technology and experience than the average person, but I really don’t understand why people find this so confusing. It shares your posts to other websites and you can see posts from other websites. Wow, that was hard.

      It’s not people, it’s corporate business techniques that simply cannot be applied in the same way as to centralized and closed-source systems. Especially when it comes to advertisements and data collection.

      Corporations always enjoy confusing people because then they can make everyone believe what ever they want. And usually it just means it makes it easier to sell products and services to people while at the same time ruining any chance that people may actually find something useful and freely available.
