    More like they don’t want to keep bickering with the media companies about licensing for a niche product.

    Blurays are scary to streaming services as they are physical media that can’t be deleted.

        I think there is some serious irony at play. There attempts to stop piracy have just made it worse.

          It’s also caused the VPN market to explode. 10 years ago, very few people knew what a VPN was or even needed one. Bit torrent block lists used to be good enough to protect you. But media companies became more aggressive, and everyone switched to VPNs.

    Meanwhile, I have been shifting back towards physical media because not everything is available to stream, it’s sometimes costs more to stream versus buying the disc, and sometimes you purchase the streaming version only for it to leave the platform. Plus you don’t get things like director’s commentary if you stream.
