You know, now that we’re living in the age of everyone having smartphones, we get to see a lot more first hand videos of disasters (natural or otherwise). A common theme I’ve noticed is how quickly situations change from manageable to unsalvageable.
Climate change is a slower moving and much more complicated disaster, but I fear one day, much sooner than has been predicted, were going to cross an “oh shit” threshold. And it will suddenly become clear that we’re in an unsalvageable situation.
And as we saw from Covid, even at that point, Republicans will block any effort to mitigate the damage.
