Bravus VI, going dark
Attach pilum silencers, we can’t have any mistakes
I actually disagree that the Marines would lose over the long-term, unless crayon-based nutritional deficiency kicks in, or we assume that the Romans trigger the Marines’ pre-set kill limit.
I’m generally with you, I bet they use something like the tanks once as a show of force, then the logistics officer will shit his pants about maintenance and fuel and command will adapt.
On the other side I think the roman leadership would seek negotiations quickly, they were no strangers to politiking
Yeah, like, at the TIBER? 2,000+ undefeatable men ready to knock down Rome’s walls in a day doesn’t mean “The full might of the Roman Empire will find you!”, it means “Lt. Colonel John Johnson from Iowa is now Emperor of Rome by acclamation of the Senate and People, and will be leading an expedition to Parthia next year. AVE!”
A few marine snipers attached to a completely standard Roman army would look like the hand of Jupiter.
Hello decapitation strikes
I find it doubly amusing since the somewhat… machismo-oriented culture of the Marine Corps would probably have fewer conflicts with the dominant culture in Rome and its Legions than your average American time-transplantee.
The USMC is gayer though, and would doubtlessly pass on this tradition by example to the Legions they would spearhead
I’m not sure. Let’s just agree they would be…Merry company.
