Still proud here for the Filipinas, as they had the unenviable task of facing a former World Cup champion in Norway. Here’s hoping Filipina and Filipino football continues to soar new heights moving forward

i don’t know but I’m in a minority na sana our athletes are from PH, born in this country. It feels kasi na parang nagi-import tayo which benefits the country’s name sa international competition. Dami rin kasi tayong Pinoy athletes na dito talaga lumaki and wants to compete din, pero di napipili for national squad. If they were born sa labas, mas fair siguru if they spent more time sa country by, i don’t know, maybe study to a PH university or play for PH clubs? All I’m saying is sana mabigyan din ng opportunity ang local players, pero baka nga lang di sila physically competitive tulad ng mga US born players.

You have to understand that in a competitive setting, the team needs to get players who have more experience against international players in leagues outside the Philippines.

Ideally the team picks from homegrown talent already playing within our national league, but only if it were on par with other countries’ leagues with more international talent and tougher competition.

ok yeah, i think dito kulang yun development or training na ibinibigay sa mga locals. Sa ibang bansa, they really provide halos lahat mapa-physical or financial support para mag-improve talaga yun talent. Mga Pinoy players tulad nila Hidilyn sariling sikap or hingi ng support sa iba kasi kulang bigay ng gobyerno. Hopefully (or wishingfully) one day this can change.

Yup, even powerhouse countries are treating naturalization as a reality. It’s no longer about fielding a purebred lineup.
