When I was growing up, there was a website called OCRemix. It had a ton of remixes of video games, and a lot of fantastic ones. I still have old CDs that me and friends went and burned quite a long time ago.

I tried to find some of the songs on the site and it looks like:

  1. At some point, everything went to youtube
  2. Looks like a lot of the links that im seeing are no longer on youtube(?). Im getting a lot of “This video isn’t available anymore”

Where are all the old songs? Does anyone know?

The website is still there. They host their own torrent archives of the songs:

    https://ocremix.org/torrents

This is post-purge, when thousands of OCReMixes were removed because they sampled audio directly from the games.

There are fan collections of songs and other things that have been taken down over the years:

    https://archive.org/details/oldocremix

This is just what I could find to write this reply. I’m sure there’s more.

Oh wow Great! I appreciate the links and the info. It’s been literally a decade since I’ve visited so I didn’t know the context.

Edit - nevermind me. Completely missed the post above you already had archive links.

Yeah the links were on the main site but some went to 404 or videos taken down.

I think I see the issue. Ive reported the links that are not working. I think youtube is taking quite a bit down of certain games, but not others.

For example, I found: https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01306 no issues. So thats good. Still, youtube being what it is on copyright…im wondering why they switched over to youtube in the first place. Oh well, found what I wanted.
