There’s a lip product that claims to NOT be pH-adjusting but every time I swatch it, my hand turns bright pink. I did some digging and found the ingredients that cause the colour change:

Red 27: a cool fuchsia pink

Red 21: a slightly warmer fuchsia pink (i.e. with yellow)

Red 28 (not pictured): another pH-sensitive dye that can also change color based on skin pH, but its exact color shift may vary depending on the formulation.

After much more research, I’m struggling to find an ingredient that will change lips a colour other than (some variation of) bright pink.

Has anyone found a pH-adjusting lip product that creates a more natural stain?
