He finally helped in the end, but even after he got released from Grima’s control he was like “nah, don’t really want to help” until he gave in.

I sincerely doubt trump has any redemption arc outside of leaving office by any means ASAP.

Maybe Trump is a good guy who’s been under a spell to make him stupid and vain for decades?

Correct, I’d say Trump is closer to Denethor. At least as he is portrayed in the movies, book-Denethor actually fought back against Sauron for decades and was driven insane by a Palantir (and Sauron influencing him through it just like Saruman).

Peter Thiel, who owns JD Vance, has a company called Palantir, just to add another layer to this joke.

Seriously! Theoden was bewitched by Wormtongue via Saruman / Sauron. Trump might be influenced but he was already his own Dark Lord.

If he can become the fucking president of the united states after publicly being a slur slinging misogynistic rapist, I think you’ll survive reading a couple naughty words here.

Edit: I’m just angry at the whole state of this world we live in, apologies.

It’s not about my reading naughty words. It’s about marginalized groups being attacked every day and our language reinforcing their status. You aren’t hurting Trump when you call him those names. You’re hurting the people you’re using as pejoratives.

I am angry too. I don’t call people slurs in retaliation. Appreciate the apology but let’s just maybe not use that language?

I am not going to self censor for you and your feelings, however I will use a different word that conveys the same affect in the future that should be more descriptive and colorful.

I’m not asking you to censor yourself for me and my feelings. This is the exact same logic as not running around calling someone the N-word or queer people their common slur. Do you think you are censoring yourself for my feelings when you don’t call someone a slur?

I guess unlike the parent commenter, my bias is showing because it’s so likely he is literally overweight (fat), but I cringed at the retard part.

RE: your edit, totally understandable. We’ll get through this buddy. (And if not, what are they gonna do? Send us to hell? Ha!)

I saw nothing wrong with your original statement.

The movement to ban the “r word” is one of the reasons Trump won. Over sensitivity is creating anger and indignation.

We have bigger battles to fight, everyone. This isn’t the time for semantics. We have enough division without battles like this being waged.

There being a large segment of the public against the use of the r-slur is so old that Black Eyed Peas re-released a song without it over 20 years ago. Blaming petty shit like this on Trump winning isn’t just inaccurate, it’s blaming the people who are going to be harmed most by his presidency for bringing it about.

If you think semantics are so unimportant, then don’t die on the hill of saying slurs.

Using ableist slurs is not being overly sensitive. It’s using a condition many people are born with as an insult so someone. It’s essentially putting them down as less-than.

This isn’t going to be tolerated no matter how you spin it. There’s thousands of other words one could use in its place, Be creative.

It is absolutely NOT tolerated here. Regardless of where else it is. And calling people “dipshits” because they disagree with your perspective that ableist slurs should be allowed because an ignorant old man uses them….

Yeah… This is not the hill you want to die on.

Who is Saruman? Where is our Gandalf the White? Wait, this won’t work…releasing him from the spell just gets a younger more confident Trump, not any Theoden.

      That hour hasn’t come yet.

For what it’s worth, a younger Trump supported the Democrats and most of their causes. But then he got all pissed off when Obama made fun of him at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner and his brain turned to even more mush than it was already and boiled with rage, so he decided to abandon every policy the Democrats had, not that he believed in any of it anyway, and join the far right.

      No principles whatsoever.

That’s just it, he didn’t believe in any causes, he just supported ones that helped him. The only thing that changed his his ability to comprehend things, but he’s the same terrible person.

Slightly off-topic, but my favorite WH correspondent’s dinner video was the one Bill Clinton did as a farewell at the end of his second term. With the older Pete from Pete and Pete!

Actually the thing common with trump and muskow, is that they don’t believe in any cause, just whatever benefits them personally.
