There’s a sign in the windows of one of these buildings asking people to stop asking about lottery tickers, as they didn’t sell the lottery there. I dunno what Nipton was like before it was largely abandoned so that could be incidental, but I can’t help but imagine the locals got annoyed by Fallout fans lol

Honestly, standing in the ghost town of Nipton with one of my besties, just the two of us and fucking nothing else for untold miles and miles, it was a weirdly sobering experience. This was once a place, with people, who formed many memories here - and now it’s basically completely abandoned. Just felt kinda bad for the place, really.

I’m sure it can be frustrating. I just drove out and took some pictures without disturbing anyone. Goodsprings on the other hand has completely embraced the Fallout connection, and it seems to even to this day give their bar and general store good business- I was there for about 45 minutes eating lunch and three separate groups of people came in who were clearly looking for “Fallout things” to take photos of. I imagine it gets old, but probably keeps the stores alive.

If I’m running a bar/restaurant, my only complaint would be if you didn’t at least buy something. But I bet most people get lunch or a snack/beer. I would, becuase dammit I’m there!
